Dan and Luke Riches
From humble beginnings growing up in the Kimberley, the brothers have made waves in the film scene with their exciting new work. Forming a dynamic filmmaking duo they burst onto the scene with their captivating SBS documentary 'Lost Diamonds' hosted by Phil Breslin. This story followed the 1942 Dutch Dakota plane crash which carried $20M worth of diamonds on board, the whereabouts of which remains a mystery to this day. Lost Diamonds went on to win an Australian Cinematographer Society Silver Award.
The brothers have also captivated audiences with their ABC Comedy Series 'KGB' which has been dubbed a 'groundbreaking Indigenous comedy' receiving rave reviews, including 8/10 on IMDB. It was selected for special screening at CinefestOZ Film Festival and nominated for Best Australian Comedy at Melbourne Webfest 2020. Moving from strength to strength the brothers are an exciting talent with several productions currently underway in 2020.
Dan Riches
Daniel began his media career at Foxtel with the team at Fox Sports, Melbourne, Victoria. During this time he joined the production crew working on AFL football talk show ‘Before the Bounce’, AFL Matches, and live coverage of the Australian Open Tennis. His time was spread across all areas of television production including writing, shooting, and editing. Daniel also completed a Cert IV in Media (Television Broadcasting) at while working at Foxtel. Daniel also completed High School at Grace Christian School, Sanford, North Carolina, USA while on a basketball scholarship and holds a Diploma of Management, Diploma of Music, and Cert III Technical Production (Audio Engineering). Daniel is credited as Writer/Director of Lost Diamonds and Creator/Writer/ Director of KGB (ABC).
Luke Riches
Luke completed high school at Grace Christian School, Sanford, North Carolina, USA. Pursuing dreams of playing basketball in the US he continued on to university at Polk State College, Florida. While on a basketball scholarship he studied Business Administration. After moving back to Perth and co-founding Ardiol Creative with Daniel they commenced work in corporate videography. This allowed Luke to develop his skills in writing, directing and producing, as well as hands on experience in cinematography, sound recording, and editing. Luke holds a Diploma of Music, Certificate III in Technical Production and Diploma of Procurement and Contracting. Luke was Writer/Producer on Lost Diamonds (NITV/SBS), and Creator/Writer/Director of KGB (ABC).
